The project consortium consists of seven companies on both sides of the border, a business association, a public institution and a university. These are the core partners in this initiative and responsible for strategically developing the innovation projects and implementing the results.
The engineering office brings expertise in the areas of hydrogen storage, value-added chains, building services engineering and combined heat and power plants from various projects.
In line with Borkum's vision of becoming sustainable, climate-neutral and emission-free by 2030, the Borkumer Kleinbahn is leading one of the innovation projects - the hydrogen-powered island railway.
With its technological "know-how", FME makes an important contribution to the H2Watt project. FME is responsible for the technical project support and takes over tasks in the field of communication and marketing.
Ameland’s ambition is to be a front runner in energy transition. The combination of shipping and hydrogen technology is of great importance for the island.
The University of Emden / Leer is modelling the future hydrogen regions Ameland / Borkum and is developing a speedboat powered by alternative fuels.
HYGRO is committed to the development and management of the carbon-free hydrogen chain. The task in the H2Watt project includes hydrogen system analyses and applications.
Within the project, MARIKO supports and coordinates the activities of all partners, is responsible for financial management and takes on tasks in the areas of communication and marketing.
Borkum's vision: to be sustainable, climate-neutral and emission-free by 2030. Ideal island location for a test laboratory of the energy and heat turnaround with the topics hydrogen mobility and heat supply to the offshore quarter.
Through the Norden Frisia shipping company, the real needs of a Wadden Sea shipping company can flow into the project. In this way, the tests in the real lab can be adapted to the actual driving profiles required of a water taxi in the Wadden Sea.
Within the project Resato is actively involved in analysing the needs in regards to the hydrogen refuelling process, as well as the design and delivery of such refuelling solution.
